Compatibility
It fits any M.2 2280 slot that supports NVMe on Intel and AMD boards. In a Gen4 or Gen5 slot it works normally at its own Gen3 speed. M.2 slots that are SATA-only will not run NVMe drives, so check your laptop or motherboard first. Windows 10 and 11 recognise it without extra drivers.
FAQ
Will it work in a PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot?
Yes. Newer slots are backwards compatible and run the drive at its Gen3 speed. The slot just needs to support NVMe.
Is Gen3 fast enough for gaming?
For Windows boot and game loading the everyday difference from Gen4 is small. Gen4 mainly helps with very large file transfers.
Does it have DRAM cache?
No, it is a DRAMless design. For heavy, sustained random writes, a drive with dedicated DRAM is the better choice.
